About the Role

Reporting to the Director People Services, the Safety Manager is responsible for the implementation, management and evaluation of our work health and safety strategy. They provide expert safety advice, leadership and training, driving down injury rates and championing our safety culture.

A typical day at Savers might include:

  • Coaching a store manager on an incident investigation and corrective actions
  • Meeting with the facilities team to talk about the safety needs of a new store
  • Preparing a report for our executive team on our safety performance and trends
  • Working with our People Services Administrator to ensure our online systems are up to date
  • Meeting and engaging with our wonderful team and customers

About You

To ensure you can hit the ground running, you will have a mix of the following:

  • Qualifications in workplace health and safety, or equivalent experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of WHS legislation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in report writing, policy development and analysis
  • Excellent group facilitation, presentation and training skills
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate outcomes to create a strong WHS culture
  • A team player – you love working in a team, and enjoy helping others to meet team goals
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment – you might have worked in retail, healthcare, production, warehousing or hospitality
